Not only did I have an extra special Mother's Day because I have two lovely boys this year, but I also had Po Po here too! Po Po has been doing all the cooking and all the dishwashing during her visit so the least I could do was give her the day off, ha ha. We actually had a very quiet day and then went to Auntie Tina's for a delicious bbq dinner.
Since we are on the subject of Moms, Sam has been switching between calling me his usual "Mommy" and the more grown up, "Mom". I think it is because he hears me calling Po Po, "Mom". Just a little thing, but it is different for me to hear him calling me "Mom". One friend mentioned that at least it isn't the "Mmmmooooom!" along with the eye roll, yet.

Daddy had to go to Malta for a business trip over the Mother's Day weekend and Sammy wanted to bring his little suitcase along to the airport when we sent Daddy off. Sam also asked to have his nails painted while Mommy was painting her toenails. Daddy was away so Mommy thought, "Why not?" He wanted pink like Mommy but I persuaded him into the more masculine sparkly blue and after we did his toes, he wanted his fingers painted so I brought out the sparkly green as well. It was quite an experience to paint a 3 year old boy's nails - how can you ask him to sit still while the paint dries? We had to repaint a couple of times until I finally taped some tissue between his toes and had him sit at the picnic table with his lego. (We also had to remove some paint from Mommy's legs, shirt and the couch!) At one point, when the paint was a bit smudgy, Sam said, "Mom, it's melting!" Daddy waited until the day after he got home to ask Mommy, "So, this is the last time you are painting Sam's nails?"
All in all, we had a fun weekend. Thank you Sam and Jasper for my beautiful and comfy shoes! (Sam calls them my "sparkles" and my "jingle bells" shoes)
