Sam's school had "Sports Day" for all the 3-6 classes last week and Sam's class color was orange. As we know, our little guy is not fond (to say the least) of large crowds and loud noises therefore was not very happy when it was time to go onto the field for the events. He would not even look up in the class picture and just kept his head bowed down. Daddy came from work to help cheer but did not stay long as he could not bear to see his buddy upset. Mommy thought it was touching for Daddy to be so sensitive and almost got a bit upset herself. No wonder Sammy is the way he is!
Sam was a trooper though, even through tears he was able to complete all the activities with Mrs. Simon's help. Luckily, there was only 4 events: egg on a spoon, run the ball to the basket, potato sack race and a sprint. It took almost 3 hours for everything to get finished so by the end, there were quite a few tears here and there as the kids were hot and tired from all the excitement.

All the kids were rewarded a certificate and a ribbon for doing their best. Sam was quite proud and even told Mommy he had a fun day on the way home in the car. And yes, he had the best nap later that afternoon.
