Welcome 2014!

In the spirit of New Year's Resolutions, I am starting with my first 2014 blog entry before 2015 starts!  Woo hoo!

I don't normally post selfies but I took this picture for June-yee before we headed out for our dinner to show her I was wearing the necklace she gifted me for Christmas, and since Baby McCallum #3 is going to make his debut in 2014, I thought I would include him in this post.  This is baby at 31 weeks.

The Worthington-White's hosted us along with the Dziwenka's and the Czember's with a delicious roast dinner.  Last year we did not make it to midnight so Auntie Grace decided to do the countdown according to London time this year.  Even so, our boys barely made it.  They are usually the last ones standing but both were feeling under the weather and Jasp even asked to go home amidst all the fun. (to be fair, he only had a 5 minute nap in the car on the way over too) We still enjoyed bringing in the New Year with all our friends and were home in bed by about 10, a record I think!

Before dinner, the girls decided to put on a "show" for the adults.  They wanted to re-enact Katy Perry's video "Roar".  You can see from this picture that Anderson was being used as the lion from the video.  Sam and Jasp just sat back and enjoyed the fun as performing is not really their thing.

The kids ate in the family room while the parents feasted in the dining room.  When all went quiet and it seemed all the kids moved upstairs to play, I went to check to see how much the boys ate and lo and behold my two boys were still quietly sitting at their table finishing up their plates.  What a cute (and kind of surprising) sight for me to encounter!

On New Year's Day, we just had a lazy day in our pj's which seems to be the theme for our Christmas holiday this year.  I had to iron some of Daddy's shirts (someone unfortunately still has to work!) and while I was upstairs I heard Jaspy having one of his coughing fits.  When I called down to see if he was okay or on the verge of throwing up (something that is "normal" for Sam and Jasp since they have too good of a gag reflex), Sam called up to say "It's okay, I have the barf bucket for Jasp".  This picture is a re-enactment of the scene but it always touches my heart when Sam takes charge and fills his shoes as big brother.  You can tell Jasp also appreciates it and loves the care as he is always taking every opportunity to snuggle next to his brother whether watching a show on tv or the iPad.  Can't wait to see how #3 works into the mix!
