Yay for Christmas break!

Another school term finished for Sammy and this is his latest report card:

Sammy is a sweet, friendly child who interacts well with his classmates.  He continues to possess excellent observational skills.  He is goal-oriented and does well when he follows certain routines to accomplish a task.  Sammy readily watches the teacher giving lessons to children in all areas of the classroom.  He enjoys practical life exercises such as washing dishes and scrubbing tables which are his favorite activities.  Sammy has improves his ability to initiate tasks and to see them to completion.  He works with materials that help him to understand concepts such as size, shape and sound.  He is always keen to work in the culture area and has been introduced to land and water forms.  In language, Sammy is working on letter sound associations /a/, /m/, /t/, /f/, /b/ and matching them to the initial letter sound of the objects.  In math, he continues to work on patterning and recognition of numbers 1-10, then matching them to their corresponding quanities.  Sammy has made steady progress.  Well done, Sammy!

Always so glad to hear Sam's progress at school as we definitely see his independence grow at home as well.  Such is life to go through trial and error as you can see how much toilet paper Sammy used to clean his bum...lesson learned to use less next time!

We had a dentist appointment: Sam is an excellent patient who sat alone for his teeth cleaning (an huge accomplishment as we know how Sam is with noisy instruments!) and was checked out with no cavities! We took some pictures for our family Christmas card, wrapped some presents, made a sign to welcome Grandma for her Christmas visit and are now ready for Christmas Day.  Sam loves being on vacation and asks if school is closed every morning when he wakes up.

Sammy acted a bit shy when he first watched his video message from Santa this year but has been behaving (on the most part) for our Elf on a Shelf who reports to Santa every night if he has been naughty or nice.  The boys love searching for the Elf (who has remained nameless) every morning to see where he is perched upon to watch over them.  Sam sometimes gets cheeky when he is misbehaving and once told Mommy that the Elf can't see what he is doing because of the spot where he was sitting was out of sight from him.  Mommy told him that even though the Elf cannot see him, he still has very good ears and can hear everything as well!

A couple of Sammy's Christmas art projects he brought home:
