Mommy recently got a home printer so she got a bit more ambitious with the making of birthday cards for Daddy this year. I printed pictures of the boys with their Dad and glued them to construction paper for the boys to decorate themselves. The end result? Paint all over the faces in the pictures! Quite hilarious actually.
During dinner, Daddy was telling Sam about his day at work and how they were learning to sing songs in Spanish. This really intrigued Sam so he asked Daddy a few questions like, "Which songs did you sing?" When Daddy struggled with answers, Sammy said, "Tell the truth Daddy!" It was pretty humorous because Sam just started using this phrase recently, (something he picked up from friends at school) but has not been really using it in the right context. For example, on another day, I was describing an object or something for him and he said, "Tell the truth Mommy", which caught me by surprise because I certainly was not trying to fool him with my description. Anyways, it was really cute because at first, Sam really did think Daddy was singing Spanish songs at work but caught him fibbing instead!
We got so busy wrapping presents and painting cards, the cake was not even iced when Daddy got home. Daddy's special request is ganache on his cake and it was done soon after his arrival. Sam helped Mommy sing happy birthday and Jasper and Sammy helped Daddy blow out the candles. In fact, the boys had such a blast blowing out the candles (Jasp was laughing so much!), we relit them 4 times.
