End of Art Class

Jasper ended up LOVING art class afterall.  The teacher Ms. Jen gives me credit for sticking it through because she has seen many parents give up after a couple of classes but I think all the credit is due to her.  She comes up with the most fantastic ideas for her class that encourages kids to explore art and creativity beyond paint and you can tell she is passionate about both children and art which makes her the perfect teacher.

All it took was one class for her to set up posters outside for the kids to paint and Jasp was all in for the painting and painted inside and outside in the classes afterwards.  His favorite was still washing his hands but it was good to see him spread his artistic wings.

As well, in our last class, we were a bit late and the other kids had made a plaster mold where they mixed the plaster and then stuck the sticks in the plaster and painted the "sculpture".  Ms. Jen asked if me if Jasper would like to do one and I was a bit reluctant but when she asked Jasp, he said, "Yes."  And surprise, surprise, he put his hands in and mixed the plaster and loved sticking the sticks in.  He was more than excited to show Daddy what he did in class when he came home that day.  "Daddy! Painting! Sticks!"  I am so glad Jen took the time to make one with Jasper even though we were almost out of class time. (We have not had time to paint it at home yet)
