With the start of school and getting used to our new schedule, the responsibility of making haircut appointments unfortunately got left by the wayside. Both of the boys started having crazy hair but poor Sammy must have been annoyed the most since his hair is straight and falls right into his eyes.
Finally, with Sam's upcoming birthday, Mommy got her act together and brought the boys to Ellen for the long overdue cut. (It was regretfully not before we got their pictures for the work permit papers - they look a bit like outlaws, don't they?) Sammy went first and was his usual ideal kid client and Jasper followed in his big brother's footsteps and did not cry like the last time when I brought him without Sam.
Sammy always looks great after a fresh cut, but Jasp always look a bit "Madge-like" (despite all of Ellen's efforts to make his hair look cool after a cut) and needs a couple of weeks to grow back his surfer dude style. Ellen had shortbread cookies as treats afterwards, which Jasp happily accepted of course, but I had promised the boys lollipops so we headed over to Treats and got a couple for the newly coifed McCallum brothers.
But no matter short or long, the boys will always have the McCallum morning hair!
