Cruz's First Easter Weekend

We kicked off our long weekend with some morning time relaxation on Good Friday.  The boys are simply overjoyed when Daddy stays home on the weekend because it is such a treat for the whole family.
Just wanted to see if Japper's hand is as big as Sam's...almost!

When we finally got out of our pi's, we headed out to Sam's classmate's (Oliver's) Easter egg hunt party.  But before we went, Sam showed Jasper how to play a game of marbles (which we are definitely in good supply of since Jasp is obsessed with them).  One of Sam's classmate's (Naomi's) father came to their class to show them a few of their family Easter traditions and playing marbles was one of them.  Maybe Lego will be one of ours!

Even Cruz got to come!  Po Po was not feeling well though so she stayed home and caught up with her friends on the phone.  They sure miss her when she comes to Bermuda for months at a time.

The party was at the Old Perfume Gardens so the property was humongous and the Cherry family littered every nook and cranny with a kajillion eggs.  We discovered that we had quite a few mutual friends, which is not hard to believe since this is Bermuda and our kids attend the same school.  I left the party feeling such an overwhelming sense of community.  Bermuda can be so much like a small town where everyone knows everyone and it is such a friendly environment to be a part of.

Cruzie was such a hit he missed out on all our pictures.  We were fortunate enough to have lots of friends who were willing to hold him while we did the egg hunt with the boys.
After we got home, Sam spied the neighbours flying their kites and busted out the binoculars to get a better peek.  The day was so beautiful and Sam looked so handsome in the below picture.

For the first time in years, Daddy cooked up a delicious Easter turkey dinner, which we all graciously devoured!

The next morning, the boys woke up to find their treats left by the Easter rabbit and had a blast finding all the eggs around the downstairs of our house.  Jasp loved the treats so much, Daddy caught him, with the camera, at the table "hiding" and sneaking a couple of extra chocolate eggs.  Yep, for sure a McCallum.

To burn off some chocolate energy, Mommy and Daddy took the three dudes to the Somersfield playground.  They boys never seem to tire of this park even though they come here everyday for school. (which I guess is a good thing!)

And amidst all the Easter excitement, our smiley baby turned 8 weeks old!
