Jasper is really putting mine and Will's parenting (and child-proofing) skills to the test. We now realize what a laid back baby Sam was compared to how Jasper is. This little guy constantly wriggles in your arms when you are carrying him, he twists and turns (and crawls away if you let him) while you are changing his diaper or clothes, pulls at any cord in sight, likes to explore cupboards and boxes and of course crawls at full speed everywhere in the house. Likewise, he also knows how to melt our hearts. For Mommy, he may crawl over and then rest his head on my lap...even if it is just for a second, the feeling is timeless. Daddy gets the best greeting from Jasper when he comes home from work. As soon as Will walks in the door, Jasper looks up, smiles a huge smile and crawls as fast as he can to Will. Will doesn't even have time to take off his jacket before the little guy gets picked up.
Jasper's favorite piece of furniture is the blue chair of course. (Daddy and Sam will have to divvy up the timeshare on the chair to include Jasper) He uses the chair as a lookout point in the livingroom, you will most likely find him standing on the chair and looking to see what everyone else is doing. Thank goodness we have the rubber letter mats to catch Jasp when he tumbles off - he is a tough guy and the falls don't affect him as much as they do Mommy.
Jasper is also eating cheerios like there's no tomorrow (he also tries to get in on big brother's food but needs a few more teeth). It is amusing to watch him trying to perfect his fingers' dexterity because his hands are so big. I also treated him to a melt-in-your-mouth butter cookie from Marks and Spencer and of course he loved it. That's about all that he is eating that isn't pureed right now. I have also noticed that he has the McCallum sweet tooth. Any puree that he is not too crazy about, I just add a bit of applesauce and he eats it all up
And last but not least, Jasper tried out the baby swings at Shelly Bay park! Not loving it like his brother (who still loves them!) but I am sure it is something he will eventually learn to enjoy. He looks like he is pretty happy in this picture.
