Easter Egg time

We had a very busy but fun-filled Easter weekend.  On Saturday morning, Mommy and Sam met up with our friends at the Aquarium where we made a bunny hat, had an up-close encounter with a baby tortoise, followed by an Easter egg hunt and finished up by having a snack with the Easter Bunny.  After a much needed nap, the whole family headed over to the Taylor's house for their annual Easter egg hunt in their huge beautiful backyard.  It is rare that Daddy is able to come to these events as Easter is usually before April 15th.  This year he got to relax, share a beer with Jasper and have fun with the kids.  Jasper loved feeling like a big boy being pulled in the wagon with his brother.  The spoon race was quite amusing as most of the kids were young enough to not have ever been in a race before.  Sam was great at keeping his grape on his spoon but just before he got to the finish line, he stopped and commented, "Look!  A kite in the sky!"  After all the fun at the Taylor's, we went to Auntie Tina's house for a delicious turkey dinner topped off with Daddy's yummy pecan pie.

The Easter Bunny left a big basket full of treats for the whole family on Sunday morning.  Sam loved all his new little gadgets and books whereas Jasper dug into the candies and chocolate that were sadly ignored by big brother.  Every time we turned around, the little rascal was digging into the basket for more sweets.  Daddy even found a poor little chocolate lamb wrapped in foil with his whole head bitten off.  We then headed over to the Cooze's in the afternoon for their annual Easter egg hunt.  Though Sam started off on Saturday by taking his time to hunt for eggs (opening them along the way), he knew to how to get down to business when we started the hunt at the Cooze's.  Unfortunately, Mommy forgot the camera and the blackberry for the Cooze's party.  Needless to say, we had a lot of fun and feel very fortunate that we have generous friends that host great parties.
