Maybe not a mini-Picasso
Jasper always asks me to do some painting at home so I thought I would sign him up for the very popular toddler art classes available at Kaleidoscope here in Bermuda. The mommies even organized themselves enough so that a couple of kids Jasper knows, Oliver and Mackenzie, are in the same class. Well, lo and behold, young Mr.McCallum does not want to even touch a paintbrush in the art room. He prefers to watch the diggers outside the window, play a little (just a little) with the fine motor skill activities, and spend the rest of the time at the bucket of water which is provided for the kids to rinse off their hands in between art stations so that they don't have too much paint on their hands. Oh well, as it was with Sammy (he had gymnastics and dance classes), even though they don't seem to fully enjoy the classes, at least Mommy had good intentions of giving them exposure to new activities. Jasper still asks me, "Painting? Water?", meaning he wants to go to art class to play with the water, so it is a good sign that he does want to go to the actual classes.
