Meet Mommy's boyfriend

No, not really!  Daddy will always be her number one guy (sorry boys, but he was here first!), but he did let Mommy indulge in her boyband tendencies and go on a trip with her friends to Toronto to go see a Jordan Knight concert and meet him afterwards.  Mommy feels really spoiled when she goes on these trips and enjoys every minute because she knows she has a loving family waiting for her at home.

Po Po was just about due for a trip to Bermuda and since Air Canada had one of their super duper seat sales, we took it as a sign for her to come here to help Daddy while Mommy was away.  Daddy has also started a renovation project back at Po Po and Gung Gung's house to redo all the bathrooms so it was a good time for Po Po to leave and let Gung Gung do all the "managing" of the renos.

Just before Mommy left for her vacation, she and Daddy met up with Sammy's teachers to discuss Sammy's reading and writing skills.  Sammy has very little interest in learning the alphabet much less reading and writing and Mommy and Daddy didn't really push the issue because he is only 5 after all, right?  But because the school curriculum has changed a lot since Mommy and Daddy's days in school, kids these days are expected to read and write in kindergarten therefore Sammy's lack of progress/interest needed some attention.  So while Mommy was away, Daddy went to a local education shop and bought a bunch of learning materials for Sammy, including a very helpful easel.  Our dining room now looks similar to a classroom with the alphabet posted up and Sammy is quickly catching up on the learning curve.  Mommy and Daddy are very proud of his hard work.

The teachers insist that we make Sammy's learning experience "fun" but Sammy sees through our "tricks" and knows that we are getting him to do "work".  An instance of his "enthusiasm" to learn the alphabet: One night at dinner, we were naming some of his classmates and figuring out what letter their names started with by sounding out the first letter.  We did about three and then Sammy said, "Okay, let's eat our dinner in silence now".  So much for "fun" learning, ha ha.

These are just two of the pictures that welcomed me home from Toronto:
