What a difference a year makes!!! Sammy was mostly tears at last year's Sports Day, so much so that Daddy didn't have the heart to make it this year in case it was full of tears again. But Sammy performed phenomenally and was very smiley this year, yay!

They changed the format of the activities this year. Instead of each team (and their cheering fans) moving around to each activity, the classes stayed put and the activities were rotated to each team. In essence, the kids "competed" against their own classmates. There was four races: the "dress up" race, where they had to dress up and undress in a few pieces of clothing; the "toss the beanbag in the hula hoop" race; the "lego" race where they had to build and unbuild a few pieces of duplo lego; the "potato sack" race which is the only one Sam had difficulty with and teared up just a bit until Mrs Feven gave Sammy a hand; and the "egg ladle" race. Mommy was busy taking videos for Daddy so she missed photo ops on a few of the races. Sam was also a bit shy doing the 50m race at the end, which was in front of everyone, and needed Ms Simons (who helped him with all the activities last year) to run beside him. It sure was nice to be able to meet him at the end to give him a hug for doing so well.

All the students then did a group Zumba session. It was really cute to see Sam dancing (especially the Penguin dance part) as he is quite shy about performing, even at home.
After the sporty excitement, Mommy, Jasper and Sam had a nice picnic lunch with everyone else on the school grounds. After Sam got home from school, Jasper was lucky enough to get to "try out" the ribbon Sam got for his sporting accomplishment. He wore it as proud as if he had participated in the races himself.
