School makes me tired

For once, we actually kept to our school night schedule during a school break.  Mostly it was because the boys woke up a little on the earlier side as they knew there was no school and just playtime.  Of course, the first morning back to school, they both sleep in!  Are kids just born with this "talent"?

We had an easy going week at home with scattered playdates...expecting little brother's arrival.

The first day off, we met up with Auntie Wendy for brunch at Bouchees.  Evy and Anderson's Gung Gung was visiting and also knows our Gung Gung from back in Edmonton (yes, Edmonton can be small!) so it was nice for the grandpas to catch up as well.  If there is one thing the boys will eat a lot of, it is breakfast food.  Pancakes, eggs, sausages, toast and even hash browns (for Jasp), who can blame them??  Yum!

A trip to town means a trip to Daddy's office too.  Mondays can be pretty blah for Daddy so a visit from his boys helped make it a bit more bearable.

It was so nice out, we decided to go to a park to burn off some of our brunch afterwards.  Mommy admits that the beach would have been nice but did not feel like cleaning up sand so we went to the school playground.  The boys did not seem to mind going back to the place where they are supposedly taking a break from!  Gung Gung thought of a genius game of kicking your shoe up in the air to see if it would hit the canopy, the boys thought it was a hilarious challenge!

Mommy came home from grocery shopping on Wednesday to see that Sam has created a couple of new characters for Skylanders.  He is counting down the days for Po Po's arrival...as she is bringing the game!  Gung Gung promised that if he listened to Mommy and Daddy and Gung Gung, and did well with his math practice and reading, he would get his game.  However, Gung Gung's bribe backfired a bit as Sam told Gung Gung, that having the game would make him read faster!  Well played Sammy!

On Thursday, Auntie Grace hosted us for a morning playdate which turned into lunch which turned into an afternoon playdate.  Thank you so much for letting us overstay our welcome Auntie Grace.  The kids played really well together, the girls may have even wrestled more than the boys!

When we got home, we made our Valentines for Daddy.  Sammy then did a bit of reading with Gung Gung while Jasp enjoyed his Star Wars book with his newfound treat, Nibs!  A chip off Mommy's shoulder!  You can't get them in Bermuda so Mommy shared her secret stash with the sweet toothed monkey.  We had agreed that the Valentines were a secret and to not tell Daddy but Jasp spilled the beans on his way to bed.  He said, "Daddy, we made you Valentines but it's a secret so you can't see them yet".

On Friday morning, we went to Salon 27 (or as the boys call it "Ellen's") to get some fresh cuts.  Everyone who passed by commented on how good and still the boys sat, yes, even Jasper!  Since Jasper's hair is straighter now, we thought we would try a shorter and cleaner style similar to Sam's and I think it worked out handsomely.  I think he looks older but I guess he is going to be a big brother soon enough!

Before we went to Daddy's office for lunch, we dropped off our Valentine's card and treat to Auntie Tina.  She loves her hugs from the boys.

The boys were surprised with their own Valentine's treats from Mommy and Daddy after lunch.  Jasp got a couple of puzzles and Sam got another Star Wars Lego set that included an impressive robotic Darth Maul. (in which Jasper reminded us that HE was Darth Maul)  We had also stopped by the candy store after the haircuts so the boys had a little sweet dessert.  Jasp likes to eat his snacks in amusing ways sometimes and thought it was funny to put the candy on his collar before it went in his mouth.  Another way is to put it on the back of his hand too.  What a goof, what will he think of next?

Before we went home, Mommy stopped by the hospital for a non-stress test to see if Baby Brother was doing good...and he is.  Just happy to living in Mommy's womb for a bit longer.  Maybe he knows it is the only quietness he will get to enjoy for awhile.

Except for Jasper's cheeks, the boys are looking pretty similar now:

The weather at the end of our break had gone for the downturn.  Loads of rain and pretty windy too.  The boys still liked to run outside but of course "needed" their vests because it was so cold.  My Bermudian kids!!!

Sam has been interested in drawing a bit more lately, mostly Plants vs Zombies pictures but sometimes random things like a treasure map for him and Jasp to go on an adventure.  I have a feeling I will also see more Skylanders pictures in the near future.  Here are the boys on the webcam making sure Po Po packs all the right stuff in her suitcase.

Her we are just waiting (still!) for Baby Brother to arrive...Mommy is going to be surrounded by 5 boys!!!
