Sammy and Jasp were very excited to welcome Grandma here for the Christmas season. Sammy even made a "welcome home Grandma" sign for her arrival.
The weather was really nice so the boys played outside on the porch a lot but helped out with Christmas prep when called upon. Sammy made a nice turtle ornament with Grandma and both boys helped make our annual batch of yummy sugar cookies. Okay, so maybe Jasper did more snacking than helping but he did get in the holiday spirit by learning to answer, "What does Santa say?" with a hearty, "Ho! Ho! Ho!" He also learned to say "teeth" for when he gets his teeth brushed, which is a good thing for all the Christmas sweets he has been indulging on. One time, Will was giving him his nighttime cuddles before putting him down in his crib and Jasper said, "Teeth", reminding Daddy that he forgot to brush his teeth. What a good baby!
Hard to believe this was just a year ago when Jasper was longing to have a taste of a sugar cookie!
Since Mommy's forte is not in the kitchen, she took the boys out a couple of times while Daddy and Grandma did some baking and cooking. During our visit to Shelly Bay park, I was shocked when Sam calmly approached me and showed me the huge bite mark Jasper left on his arm. I had sort of seen out of the corner of my eye that Sam was teasing Jasper with a long branch so I figure that Sam did not totally freak out because he knew he was somewhat responsible for the mark. I still can't believe he let his little brother leave such a deep indentation in his arm though!

It was a bit humorous to realize I was one of the only moms taking the kiddies to the Aquarium on Christmas Eve day. I saw tons of dads there, including Sammy's classmate CeCe with her dad, while the moms were at home doing the cooking! The new Madagascar exhitbit recently opened and though not all the new animals are there yet (apparently you have to introduce the animals slowly so that the new environment has a better chance to thrive), the boys loved seeing the roaming turtle trying to escape the exhibit. Sammy and Jasp enjoyed our ritual Aquarium pizza meal before going home to the big turkey dinner waiting for us (that is after a quick stop for some last minute items at the Marketplace and a ride in their car shopping cart!)

Dinner was no doubt super delicious and sharing it all our friends made it even more enjoyable. The boys had lots of fun with the Dziwenka girls and their idol Erik. Though we have a pic of Sam doing the dishes with Grandma, don't let it fool you, Grandma amazingly did ALL the dishes by herself that night. Thank you so much Grandma!! Santa is sure to spoil you this year!
