The boys were very excited to see what Santa brought them on Christmas morning. Sam had apparently been a very good boy because he got everything he asked for (and much more!) from Santa: Batman Train, colored army men (he already had green ones and wanted the multi-colored ones) and a Transformer truck. Jasper was also spoiled and especially loved the puppy dog Santa brought him.

Two McCallum traditions are funny Christmas tags and overstuffed stockings which we open before the gifts. Poor Jasp got a good ribbing from Santa this year because he had had a bit of the stomach flu right before Christmas. And good timing for Sam to recognize the letters of his name because he was able to pick out all the gifts labeled for him. The boys also decided that Daddy was a good boy and he got his beer and Angry Birds t-shirt from them. (About a week before, when Daddy was horsing around with the boys, Sammy said that if he wasn't good, he wasn't going to get his beer and t-shirt...so much for keeping secrets!) One of Mommy's favorite gifts was from Jasper. My baby has decided to sleep through the night!!! Exactly like Sam, he needed a full 18 months of growing before having the capability of sleeping a straight 11 to 12 hours. Pretty sweet for Mommy and Jaspy.

We had fun and took our time opening pressies with snack and webcam breaks in between. It is a tradition for a lot of ex-pats to go to the beach with a bottle of champagne on Christmas day but we like to stay home in our cozy pj's.
We did venture out in the rain on Boxing Day to our friends the Wilsons' place for some yummy homemade soup and biscuits. The kids always have a blast together and it is a nice time for the adults to catch up as well.
