Sneaky Jasp!

Mommy took Jasp to Gorham's, a local hardware store comparable to a Canadian Tire back home, to check out a new lunchkit for Sammy.  Well, we didn't find anything we liked but found a couple of plastic tumbers.  At the last minute, I decided to purchase a Cadbury's "screame" egg (just like their Easter creme eggs except that the filling is green for Halloween) that I saw at the cashier's desk and thought it might be a nice treat to share after lunch.  As soon as I buckled Jasper into his carseat, he was begging for the shopping bag and Mommy, being very forgetful, just thought it was peculiar that Jasper was so excited to play with the tumblers and therefore just gave him the bag.

About 5 minutes into our ride home, I hear quite a bit of lip smacking in the back seat so I look in my rearview mirror and see a baby with sticky fingers and a mouth full of chocolate thoroughly enjoying his and Mommy's treat.  No wonder he wanted the shopping bag so desperately!  I immediately pulled over and took some pictures with my blackberry but let him continue enjoying his treat till we got home and I got the little bit of leftover.

This is a funny little story as almost the exact same thing happened with Sam when he was about 20 months old.  I was in another room when Sammy snuck a chocolate Easter egg from the table. He was well into enjoying it before I discovered what he was up to too.  This love of chocolate surely is a McCallum thing.
