Tough being a parent sometimes (Part 2)

As we all know Daddy works really hard and normally works one day on the weekend.  He usually tries to get out of the house before the kids wake up to avoid bad feelings (on his part and the kids part).  Well, a couple of weekends ago, Sammy came into our bedroom just as Daddy was getting up for his shower.  While Daddy was in the shower, Sammy had asked me if it was Saturday and if there was no school and I confirmed both for him.  When Daddy came out of the shower and was dressed to go to work, Sam was all confused and asked where he was going.  "It's Saturday, the office is closed."  Daddy then had to explain that the office was open and he had to go in.  Sam's brown eyes then opened up wide and welled up with tears as he had been anticipating a fun morning with Daddy.  Daddy had to have a few minutes cuddling time with Sam before he was able to leave the house that morning.

Daddy left for London for business and Mommy and the boys dropped him off at the airport.  It was all cool until we started driving away from the airport.  Sam kept on asking to go back to the airport to get Daddy.  He asked so many times, Mommy finally said, "Sammy, no matter how many times you ask, we cannot go get Daddy, he is on the airplane because he has to go for work."  Sam responds, "Mommy, you go for work and Daddy come back."  This probably would hurt my feelings if I didn't love the fact that the boys love their Daddy so much.  I feel so fortunate to be home with them so much, I think it is great that they still feel so bonded with their Daddy.  Jasper, who has graduated from saying "Dada" to a clear-as-a-bell "Daddy" was saying "Daddy" over and over again when Daddy called the next day to confirm his arrival in London.  Definitely a melt-your-heart Daddy moment.
